By developing new hardware and software products capable of understanding human appearance, movement and expression, we aim to make it possible for people to feel like they are directly in front of each other, despite being separated by vast distances. In this role, you will be researching and developing state of the art computer vision and machine learning technologies for solving challenges that bridge virtual and real worlds and can impact billions of people.
You will be setting technical direction for the projects you work on and will have opportunities to collaborate with researchers Meta AI Research. There are lots of exciting and challenging unsolved problems in computer vision and machine learning for AR/VR.

Computer Vision & Machine Learning Engineer Responsibilities

  • Develop creative computer vision and machine learning technology for AR/VR applications.
  • Plan and execute cutting-edge research to advance AR/VR product development
  • Develop novel real-time 3D scene understanding techniques
  • Research and prototype techniques and algorithms for 2d/3D object detection and recognition
  • Develop robust software for integrating multiple sensors and scene understanding systems

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience with computer vision – specifically 2D/3D scene understanding
  • 2+ years of experience engineering in C++ or Python
  • 2+ Experience with computer vision/machine learning libraries such as OpenCV / Torch
  • Knowledge in image analysis, machine learning, information theory, and 3D geometry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experiences in working with large-scale datasets through semi-supervision and self-supervision
  • 5+ years of experience in the field of 2d/3d scene understanding with CV/ML in production
  • Professional industry experience in the field of Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics, Robotics or similar
